A short drive
There are numerous sandy beaches in the area, the closest being Trebarwith Strand which is only a few minutes drive. Local fishing villages include, Boscastle with its picturesque harbour, Port Isaac, and Polzeath. Moving north easterly, it is a short distance to Bude and the Devon border where many more attractions can be located including Dartmoor. Southeast takes you across Bodmin Moor to Looe, Polperro and the south coast resorts. Activities such as riding, golf, surfing, are all close by, and coach excursions can be taken from Tintagel.
 

Touring
Most of Cornwall is within an hours drive, the numerous gardens include the famous Eden Project (40 minutes), Lost Gardens of Heligan and numerous National Trust properties. The hotel provides a wide range of literature to assist visitors but there is an excellent tourist Information centre in the village.
